Top 10 List entry:

There are some places that I have been to, and have wished to visit again and again.

Among my favorite ten destinations, Kerala has to be the first. Kerala has few competitors for its unspoiled natural beauty and marvelous coastline. I really enjoy visiting the temples and the beaches. The food is out of this world, in many senses. The cuisine of Kerala is unlike the food in any other part of India or the world. You have to get used to it; it is an acquired taste, but one that you will fall in love with.

I am more of a beach person than a mountain person. My second favorite place is Goa, for its wonderful, idyllic beaches and famous churches. You can spend a week here, just visiting the various temples, markets and lazing near the sea. I love the laid-back pace and the sea food in Goa is to die for.

Ooty is another destination that almost all people have fond memories of. The cool climate, flowery gardens and tea estates will leave you mesmerized.

Not to be forgotten, Mysore has an old-world charm all its own. This is a must see for silk lovers, animal lovers (a really good zoo) and for those who are interested in South Indian culture.

I enjoy spending time at Delhi because there are a lot in interesting things to see in and around Delhi. A trip to India Gate and the Lotus temple is a must. The Narayanswamy temple too is worth a look. Shopping freaks will love spending time in Delhi.

Going up north, Nainital also has a lot to offer for a lazy holiday. The little hill station is charming with its picturesque lakes and gardens.

Nearer home, there are many places that offer a quick weekend holiday. One such place is Kolhapur. With its spice non-vegetarian fare and cultural spots, this historic place has a beauty all its own. Very near is the Panhala hill station that has an ancient fort and an enchanting view.

The Konkan coastline has numerous delightful beaches. Alibag is one such beach with a fort right in the middle of the sea. The cuisine is amazing and will definitely make you go back again.

Mahabaleshwar is another hill station that has wonderful climate and a lovely lake. The strawberry farms and orchards as well as the various tourist spots complete the holiday for a tourist.
