Welcome to the Chillibreeze Indian Writers' Association Discussion Board!
bychillibreezePublished on 11-30-2010 05:06 PMIf you're interested in networking with other writers - you're at the right place!
We would highly recommend you spend just 2 minutes of your time going through some basic guidelines. These have been put in place to make your experience on these discussions as productive, informative and enjoyable as possible.
Getting Started
If you have already registered for a user name and password here, then you're all set to use our forums.
Forum Rules: The Simple Truths about this forum
1. There are no 'good guys' and 'bad guys'. Everyone is entitled to their opinions on everything. At times, you might get into a heated debate with someone over the right way to write OR over whether editors are 'out to get you' or 'angels in disguise'! No problem! What are forums for? You can argue all you want as long as you keep an open mind and hear the other side out of course.
2. Never get personal. Voice your opinions, but don't resort to personal attacks. If you do, we may need to do the online equivalent of 'having security escort you out' until you cool off.
3. Keep this page 'U' rated! For the sake of our younger or more mild mannered fellow writers, let's keep the language polite. If you must test drive some "un-parliamentary" words on someone who is annoying you, try yelling it to your computer screen instead of typing it out(which could result in the same consequence as 2 above) or go punch a pillow. Better yet, write an article about anger management or 'how to deal with annoying e-pals' and send it to your local newspaper.
4. This is a discussion board NOT a billboard. Spam, advertorials or self-promotion is not welcome and you run the risk of incurring the wrath of hundreds of writers who may not appreciate being peddled to in a professional forum. If you have a service that might be of interest to writers, email us at writers at Chillibreeze dot com and we will try and help you reach out to them via the right channels. If you do resort to spam, your id will be deleted from the site.
5. Express yourself. 2 Paises are still in circulation. We are here to offer a place for writers and editors to network, discuss work related challenges, issues and ideas. Our aim is to help you inspire and be inspired. If you find you can help someone with some experience or knowledge of your own, feel free to jump in with your 2 paise worth. It will be worth a lot more to the recipient. Similarly, even if you are a newbie to the field of freelance writing, don't be afraid to ask questions. You might be pleasantly surprised by the number of people willing to help.
6. Copyright rules - be original. You're a writer, you know how important it is to own the rights to your work and not have it plagiarized. If you'd like to share something you read somewhere, remember to give full credit to the original author and take permission to replicate their content where needed. You are responsible for all that you publish on the forum.
7. This isn't a matrimonial site, so please keep your email id, blog url and phone number to yourself. Any posts containing personal contact information (website urls included) will be deleted. Writers can use the general forum to communicate with each other. Remember, your contact information could get picked up by spammers or worse. So save yourself the bother and don't go public with your personal information.
8. Filling the writers' form on Chillibreeze.com and registering on this forum are two different things. The former helps us add you to our database of writers and is the first step towards working with Chillibreeze and its clients. Registering on this forum helps you voice your opinion and interact with other Indian writers.
9. You have a name, your posts need a title too. Ensure that all new threads started by you come with a suitably descriptive title that explain the core content of your post/query.
10. Help is at hand. Don't be afraid to ask! If you have something you'd like to ask us about or find you're having trouble posting a comment or starting a thread on the forum, please email us at writers at chillibreeze dot com.
