On September 19th, Chillibreeze organized a Travel Writing Workshop in Chennai at the Lemon Tree Hotel. A total of 18 writers attended the interactive session, which was conducted by David Juman, a Hyderabad-based writer and trainer, and the founder of WriteGroove Solutions. The workshop combined presentations, discussion, practical exercises and networking (and a buffet lunch!). Participants gained exposure to different types of travel writing (guidebooks, promotional writing, travel blogging, etc.), and were encouraged to explore which type(s) they are most interested in. The programme also covered topics such as: how to write for a global travel audience; tips on getting published as a travel writer; and travel writing resources.
All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance for completing the programme, along with personalised feedback on their writing work from David Juman. In addition, attendees were given a free Lemon Tree Hotel coffee mug and a copy of India Today Travel Plus magazine. The workshop was co-sponsored by India Today Travel Plus magazine, which donated several prizes to the top writers in the group, based on writing samples provided before and during the workshop.
