A good article. this should be more apt for today’s Mall culture of India……They need to polish the brats who have to sell international brands to the yuppy Indian buyer segment.
It is sometimes a non starter…..selling/buying with both sides trying to truely understand what is being sold and bought……this trend is foun even in some of the best malls and chain stores in US….where I had to explain about a fast drying adhesive to the store staff wo had the product on the shelf but could not identify it as the one I was in search of.
I located on the shelf and even tried briefing the section staff…..of course with a bit of reluctance peeping from within as I was an Indian buying an American product…..but they were sports !!! No twisted brows !
It is lovely to communicate wherever you happen to be and whatever you are buying.
Thanks,
Jay
Youre’ right Jay, business communication isn’t just restricted to boardrooms and top-notch marketing pros in companies…it begins with the customer service folks. They are the true “face” of the company and more often than not they are both uninformed and ill-trained and even lacking in basic communication related grooming. If only all companies realized that and spent more time on training these folks!
