Anhad Institute of Media Studies (AIMS) is an autonomous institution based in Srinagar, Kashmir valley. The institute imparts professional training in the disciplines of documentary filmmaking, broadcast journalism, photography and media research.
Courses Offered
AIMS offers the following 1-year courses:
- PG Diploma in Broadcast Journalism
- PG Diploma in Documentary Film Production
AIMS also offers short-term workshops and certificate courses lasting between 2 weeks and 3 months from time to time. The short-term courses offered are:
- Print journalism

- 3D animation
- Camera & TV production
- Advertising & PR events
- Page layout & design
- Photography
Admission Information
Admission to the PG Diploma courses is open to graduates in any discipline. Admission is based on the merits of a duly filled in application form, admission essay, portfolio and interview. Students are expected to submit a portfolio that includes samples of their creative or media related activities – writing, photographs, music, painting, dance or theatre performance certificates or evidence of social work.
Application forms can be downloaded from the institute’s web site www.aimskashmir.org. They can also be obtained in person or through post by sending in a demand draft payable at Srinagar in favor of AIMS.
Other Facilities
The institute provides latest production facilities and digital equipment required for the course. A well-equipped studio and library are also available at the disposal of students. The institute also offers round the clock internet services to its students.
Fees
The average course fee for the PG Diploma courses is about Rs.70, 000 payable in 2 installments
