Manorama School of Communication also known as MASCOM in Kottayam Kerala is a big NO NO for students. The reason being it follows an outdated teaching methodology wherein the Director acts as a Dictator and he dictates his own rules and nobody can oppose it. Nobody else has a say in any form. The overall college environment is hopeless. Language, food and culture is a big problem. Everyone speaks in Malayali despite the fact that this institution is supposed to teach English Journalism. The hostel is pathetic, unhygienic and the canteen food leads to many health problems as they only serve uncooked chapatis and chana/black gram curry for dinner (every night!) The worst part is these people who run this Institute are not open to any Feedback. And it’s not that they are charging any less amount. They increase the food and hostel fees as per their wish. The teaching quality is pretty bad enough as one can’t differentiate whether they are speaking in English or Malayali! Please if one doesnt want to go through all this torture this Instititute is a BIG NO NO especially for Non- Malayalis or non- Keralites!
Plus they fail to provide good placements. Only the small time newspapers recruit students from MASCOM. Moreover they give preference to these Keralites. Initially at the time of Admissions they act nice and helpful but actually they aren’t at all. Its all an eyewash. Only students in the 2nd and 3rd list take admissions. There is not even a single positive thing that can be spoken about this Institute. This is not at all the right place for smart people who are looking for a good career ahead. There is no learning its only forceful and obsolete.
