Chillibreeze launched eBooks in India in 2006, a pioneer in many ways. Large publishers have finally recognized the business opportunity in the Indian market.

Penguin India has set the ball rolling by announcing its entry in the audio books market.

They plan to launch 500 titles across genres. The plan is to start retailing audio books published in US and UK to test the market (classics, fiction, self-help, spirituality, business and management, and children’s books). Competition is expected to pick up in the Indian publishing industry and other established players will follow, it is only a matter of time.

Chillibreeze has recently published a report on ePublishing and eBooks in India for those interested in the Indian ePublishing industry.
