Why should I publish my work as an eBook?
This is an oft asked question by authors who wish to publish their works with Chillibreeze.
I guess it is a matter of personal choice, but I feel that ePublishing has its advantages.
In the first place, you don’t need to run around from one publisher to another, where the possibility of getting rejected is high. Needless to say you save on money and time. I am not saying that eBook publishers will not reject your manuscript! They could if the work is of very poor standards or is unacceptable due to other considerations. But then ePublishers do not have high printing costs to contend with and hence can accept many more works for publication. Another advantage is that your eBook helps you test the market. Once you have a realistic assessment of the numbers, you can go ahead with conventional publishing.
Publishing your work as an eBook is a viable and quicker way to publish. Availability on the internet makes it easier to reach a wider audience. If you have the right publisher and your internet marketing and social networking is in place, you should have no worries.
I feel that eBooks will become popular in the long run not because people like to read on screen, love audio support, can self publish and so on. Factors that could actually make eBooks popular will be the rising cost of the printed books and smaller storage space requirements!
