Who will Read eBooks?

Well, as of now it is dominantly the tech savvy, high flying executives who have latched onto Kindle and other eBook readers. The future Reader buyers are not going to be the tech savyy, globe trotters but probably women who read voraciously, are not tech friendly and source books from different places. What about the Indian market?

India’s literate population, the changing reading behavior, policy push to use of ICT for education, improved internet access – all these will contribute to a huge demand for eBooks and audio books.

I believe three population segments which will impact eBook sales in India will be young readers, women and professionals. We’ll dig this further. Meanwhile, if you have any insights, do share.

ebooks are becoming popular thanks to ereading devices like Kindle. The ebook publishing scene in India looks promising at the moment.
