Many of the computer users are still at dark about the existence of a computer registry and its importance in improving the performance of the system. The registry is the vital part of the operating system, or it can be called as a database that stores information necessary to configure the system for users, applications and devices.
Every activity in the system will be automatically recorded in the registry to be loaded when the system is turned on. When one constantly installs or uninstalls programs, the registry will get cluttered with obsolete files.
The registry errors can manifest as error messages, pop ups, ActiveX errors, .dll errors, blue screen, system crashes, slow pc and in several other disturbing forms. The worst of all is that, many a times this results in loss of data owing to improper shut downs.
The importance of the registry itself makes it the target for malware and spyware. Viruses modify the registry keys to get themselves loaded automatically. Moreover, they can hide themselves safely and propagate their malicious works.
Fixing the registry errors is a daunting task when done manually. Even the experienced person can make errors while editing the registry and this can have serious impact on the system. Hence it is always better to use a registry cleaner software for the purpose of registry maintenance.
