Is there is any conclusion of this Copenheagen Summit 2009? The previously held Kyoto Protocol Summit held to prevent climate changes and global warming did not come up with any effective solutions. From decades in running, we have witnessed policy makers from all over the world chalk out plans to keep the adverse effects of global warming within safety limits. However, the plans are yet to bear fruit…
Globalization, advance technology and industrialization are the main cause for the current environmental pollution. They have contributed extremely to the production of greenhouse gases that has lead to global warming, depletion of the Ozone layer, rising sea levels, floods, biological diversity life destruction and ice melting at the poles.
But the amazing thing is that we, the common mass, are aware of this alarming situation and the truth behind the entire frame work, yet we do so little for the cause.
The whole world has been looking ahead for answers to the expectant environmental problems. And the problems related to the environment are very widespread so the responsibility of its mitigation, remediation and sustainability cannot rest only with the developed countries of the world but with developing countries also.
The entire world is looking forward towards a successful and mutual agreement at the Copenhagen climate conference. At summit 2009, The United States President has agreed to reduce carbon emissions by 17% by 2020. But along with it USA president asked all developing countries to reduce carbon emissions by 20-25% by 2020.
The Kyoto Protocol Summit has clearly outlined the fact that the biggest gainer should make the biggest sacrifice. If the sanctions and restrictions remain imposed only on the developing or underdeveloped countries, there will be no significant growth in these nations. This is not acceptable under any circumstances.
Thus keeping focus on the entire situation, let us hope that the entire community of countries will set a achievable goal during the summit. So that we all can fight against global warming and make the world a better place to live.
