Turning grey is a natural phenomenon that occurs in almost 90% of the population across the globe. If you want to cover your gray sheds you have two options- accept your gray hair and cover it with a hair color based on your looks and texture or if you are too young to have them or don’t want any artificial hair dyes than you can follow some simple home remedies which are listed below.

I would recommend using only natural products like henna, amla, fenugreek seeds, etc. for any treatment of hair, be it hair loss or graying or dandruff problem.

Make a paste of henna and amla in the ratio of 50:50 and then apply to your hair those are gray. Leave it to dry for 30 to 45 mins. Then wash off your hair as regular with shampoo or shika. If you do this regularly, your hair will slowly change colour from gray to brown to black and reduce further graying too.

Buy henna leaves and dry them. Then powder it and add to coconut oil. Apply it daily on the portions that are gray. This helps the hair to change colour (nice shiny brown).

To cover the graying and to reduce it further, take handful of tulsi leaves. Add water to it and heat it. Let it simmer for half an hour. Leave it overnight. Apply to your hair next morning. Leave on till it dries. Then rinse your hair. Repeat weekly. Once your hair darkens well, you can do it less often. This not only prevents graying, it will also prevent dandruff or lice from hair.

Take a little Mehendi, an egg, juice of half a lemon, one table spoon of instant coffee powder. Mix it together and apply on the hair. Wash it after 45 minutes.

Make a paste of fresh amla (using amla powders might not be very effective, due to chemicals or preservatives added to it!). Massage the paste onto your hair and leave it for 30mins. Then wash off your hair. Regular application and massage with this paste will improve the colour of hair (delay the process of graying), prevent hair from falling and moreover has a cooling effect on the entire body system.

Coconut helps a lot in avoiding premature graying and also hair fall.

Whether you are opting for hair dyes or interested in following the remedies mentioned above, you must improve your diet to prevent further graying. Along with a healthy hair diet it is important that you exercise properly as it will ensure that there is proper blood flow to your scalp and will help in the growth of hair.
