From Singapore’s Tanah Merrah terminal, it took me 45 minutes by a high speed catamaran to reach Bintan Island. The aquamarine island of South China Sea is beautiful with powdery sand beaches and great swimming avenues.
I slept in the sand & soaked myself in south china water. It had started drizzling as day passed by. Wind surfing. Kayaking, banana boat rides and wake boarding is famous in Bintan and available at water sports centres.
I tried the Kayaking & Banana boat ride. When I started kayaking on my single seater kayak, the rain had started pouring heavily. Sky was pouring & sea was roaring. I challenged myself and the roaring sea. Sometimes I won; sometimes heavy waves took the grip of my kayak. Every time I tried to get onto my kayak, adamant waves would tumble it up. I got bruised going against the sea, with the rolling kayak & its peddles. I went as deep inside the sea as possible. But heavy rains & heavy wind was making my task difficult. Finally after trying my adventure for half an hour, I gave up as the resort authorities stopped me from going further inside the sea. They indicated a weather warning and I returned to the shore shivering, watching the Indonesian rains.
Next day morning, instead of taking Mikrolet minibuses which operate on fixed routes I hired a bike and headed on my wanderlust to explore deserted beaches in Bintan. Due to rains, the island had a cleaned washed look. In the evening rain caught me again. Bintan Island looked deserted in the evening with fewer vehicles and no people on the road. I had no company except my bike, road beneath, sign boards and the great darkness as street lights were not present. I was sceptical that my Indonesian bike will betray me as well. I looked back to check if I can get any help in the emergency, but there was no one except the darkness. I wondered if night has darkness intensity, then that night was the darkest night in my life. I did not look back till I reached the resort.
To my dismay, I had reached a wrong resort. The signboards had betrayed me. All resorts in Bintan looked the same at night. I had come half way ahead of my resort which meant I had to cross half of that darkest road again. I got goosebumps. I accepted the situation bravely. I took over my fear of dark roads that night by becoming friends with them. I started talking to those Bintan roads. I cursed the wrong turn which took me to the wrong resort. Before I realised, I reached my resort.
My Bintan journey came to an end at the Bintan ferry terminal. The things which I would treasure the most would be my kayaking challenge in the roaring sea & my bike ride on the darkest road of my life!!! Bintan Rocks!!!

The narrative style is infectious and will help draw in the reader. Your travelogue is ideally suited for a journal entry or a Blog post. It requires refinement to be usable beyond a personal medium and is not suitable for publication in its current form. If the article is targeted towards a global audience it is important to include additional information about places to visit, food, stay and mode of travel. There are also Indian English errors that need to be fixed. The post requires a thorough edit to help iron out the grammatical errors (punctuation errors, article usage and sentence construction) and make it publication ready.
